Nearly 20 percent of employees learned, played and shared their way to better health during the new global AbbVie Vitality event.
More than 5,000 AbbVie employees in 77 countries learned about living healthier during the inaugural AbbVie World of Well-Being (WOW) event this past January. By participating in a week's worth of daily education and online and local events focused on exercise, nutrition and sleep; building strong relationships; positive thinking; emotional health; and brain exercises, employees received tools and tips to address their "whole self" for better health.
Then, more than 1,800 took the 30-Day WOW Challenge to apply what they learned by selecting and adopting one of the behaviors demonstrated during the WOW week. Just to name a few, some employees committed to sleeping 7 hours a night, some exercised 20 minutes a day 5 days a week, while others wrote down one thing they were grateful for each day. Among those employees who took the challenge, more than 180 shared their inspiring stories, accomplishments and photos.
Now the 30 days are over and we have a winner in each region for the submission that received the most "likes," as well as the challenge submissions that were considered the most inspirational.
